Biography Theodore Nystrom, Artist For over 35 years he has been a familiar and popular "plein air" artist who enjoys painting on locations throughout New England. His well-known watercolors of famous landmarks, seascapes and landscapes are rendered in a realistic style, using what Nystrom refers to as his "natural" palette. " The vibrant colors I use are those which emulate hues created by Mother Nature for us to enjoy" Nystrom's subjects reflect his belief of one's peaceful coexistence with nature. Boats. houses, fences and gardens are commonly found in his compositions, along with the more untamed natural elements of oceans and sky. " A strong sky is very important in each of my paintings. The sky is the origin of light. Oceans and waterways mirror, to some degree, the color unity in my paintings." Nystrom is a supporting member of many art organizations. such as the prestigious Copley Society, Boston, a signature artist member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and a gallery artist of the Scituate Art Association's Front Street Gallery in Scituate Mass. He is also an associate member of the New England Watercolor Society and an associate member of the American Watercolor Society. His works are in private collections, both domestic and international. He accepts commissions for landscapes and house portraits . His watercolors and oil paintings may be viewed by appointment at the artist's studio in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. |
